Puskar in Rajasthan

Situated in the heart of the Rajputana, Pushkar always remained one of the favourite tourist destinations for people from all around the World. It serves as a pilgrimage site as well as a treat for travellers who are keen to know Indian culture more deeply.

It is a small town in Ajmer district, in Rajasthan and is one of the five sacred dhams (pilgrimage sites) for Hindu devotees. It is often called as "Tirth Raj"- the king of pilgrimage sites. Pushkar lies on the shore of Pushkar Lake. It has many temples, but they are not very old because many of its temples were destroyed during Muslim conquests in the area, and subsequently the destroyed temples were rebuilt.
